Who remembers Frontpage?? Anyone??

September 7, 2019The times they are a-changin’! Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Every client we have asks us at some point about SEO. Can we do it? Can it be done on an older site? Why does it change so drastically? Is it a waste of money?
The truth of the matter is that it does still matter, but how the game is played has changed pretty significantly. To have good SEO, you need the following:
- A site with some history (gotta be around for a while)
- Many external links to your site from other sites that get a lot of traffic
- A lot of unique visits every day!
- Fresh/updated content on a regular basis (once a month is probably fine)
- Analytics in place to see where people go on your site / how is it used?
Beyond that, the integration of Social Media plays a huge part in the equation now, as well as some long standing grass-roots marketing as well. There still needs to be energy put into *sending* people to your site, linking to it from social media sources, sharing your URL by any number of methods. One can’t just submit their site to a search engine and hope the traffic happens!
